    Coculture of human megakaryocytic microparticles (huMkMPs) with murine hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (muHSPCs) promotes murine megakaryopoiesis. muHSPCs were cocultured with huMkMPs without any thrombopoietin supplementation for 5 days. At day 5, cells were harvested, fixed, and stained for expression of von Willebrand factor (red), β-tubulin I (green), and the nucleus (4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole [DAPI]; blue). Cells were visualized via confocal and bright-field microscopies. An individual megakaryocyte is shown. Color was enhanced for better visualization. See the article by Escobar et al.
