    COVER FIGURE
Cross section of a venous thrombus formed after ligation of the inferior vena cava in a mouse lacking the secretion regulator SNAP23 in its platelets. Thrombus size was markedly smaller than in control mice expressing SNAP23, but the remaining thrombus showed a platelet-containing, leukocyte-poor structure. The section was stained with CD41–fluorescein isothiocyanate (platelets, green), CD45-Alexa 568 (leukocytes, red), and DAPI (4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole, blue). See the article by Williams et al.
