Stat1^−/− mice develop a myeloid hyperplasia as they age. Transplantation of bone marrow from diseased Stat1^−/− mice provokes the outgrowth of an aggressive B-cell clone in recipient mice that is already detectable in the donor Stat1^−/− mice.
