The image was obtained by fluorescent microscopy showing expression of Notch1 (green) in cells comprising an embryoid body derived from human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) during hematopoietic differentiation in the presence of the Notch ligand, Jagged-1. The activation of Notch signaling augmented hPSC hematopoietic differentiation via downstream effector, hairy and enhancer of split 1, at the expense of endothelial development.
