Distribution of B220+ B cells (red) in the intestinal lamina propria was analyzed by immunofluorescence in mice treated with poly(I:C), an activator of innate immunity. Immune activation by poly(I:C) did not decrease lymphocyte numbers in the lamina propria. Nuclei are stained with 4,6 diamidino-2-phenylindole (blue). See the article by Heidegger et al on page 2591.
