The cover image shows hESC-derived cells expressing endothelial specific markers. When hESC-derived CD34+ cells were cultured in endothelial growth medium, endothelial specific markers such as VE-cadherin (red) and von Willebrand factor (vWF, green) were shown to be expressed at cell-cell junctions or around the nuclei (blue), respectively. These cells could recapitulate functional vasculogenesis in vitro and in vivo. See the article by Park et al on page 5762.
