Remodeling of the vitelline artery. The picture shows a mouse embryo (E10.5) imaged via optical projection tomography (OPT), and demonstrates the extensive remodeling of the vitelline vessels in red (yolk sac vasculature also in red), with the heart and umbilical vessels in yellow. The vitelline arterial remodeling results in large hematopoietic cluster formation, as detailed in the article by Zovein et al on page 3435.
