The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Oncology Center of Excellence (OCE) named Kelly J. Norsworthy, MD, acting associate director for research mentorship. She is also the deputy division director for the Division of Hematologic Malignancies 1. Dr. Norsworthy has been with the FDA for eight years, having joined in 2016 as a medical officer in the Division of Hematology Products.
In her new role, Dr. Norsworthy will focus on collaboration with clinical reviewers and research leads as well as other OCE programs. Her priorities include research collaborations, cultivating a research mentorship program, and increasing regulatory research engagement.
In addition to her roles with the FDA, Dr. Norsworthy is an adjunct assistant professor of oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. With expertise in leukemias, she has conducted research in acute myeloid leukemia therapeutics.
