Highlights of ASH® International
Join the world’s leading hematology experts at the Highlights of ASH international meetings, a collection of two-day programs that highlight the most influential research presented at the 64th ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition, the premier event in malignant and classical (non-malignant) hematology.
Highlights of ASH attendees will receive a comprehensive review of significant scientific updates in clinical and translational hematologic research, gain an understanding of how these updates directly affect the study and practice of hematology, and discover how new research can be translated into cutting-edge patient care.
Through these meetings, attendees will be able to:
- Recap stand-out abstracts from the 64th ASH Annual Meeting
- Discuss rapidly evolving developments in hematology and hem/onc with leading faculty in the field
- Participate in interactive panel discussions and attend small group lunch sessions with the experts
- Improve therapeutic and overall practice methods
- Discover new treatments for patients
Co-hosted with the Turkish Society of Hematology, the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Society of Vietnam, and the Brazilian Association of Hematology, Hematology and Cell Therapy (ABHH), respectively, the 2023 Highlights of ASH international meetings will take place in the following regions:
Mediterranean Region
February 17-18, 2023
Istanbul, Turkey
Asia-Pacific Region
March 10-11, 2023

ASH Summit on Immunotherapies for Hematologic Diseases
March 2-3, 2023
Omni Shoreham Hotel, Washington, DC
This in-person Summit is a unique meeting of the minds that brings together academic, medical, industry, and federal regulatory communities to address the obstacles in immunotherapy treatment development for classical and malignant hematologic conditions.
“Immunotherapies have had a dramatic impact on outcomes for patients with hematologic diseases. As the use of these therapies has expanded, learnings from patients are often discussed amongst smaller groups of experts,” said 2023 Program Co-Chair Terry Fry, MD, of the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Sana Biotechnology. “We hope the Summit will enable broader sharing of the growing experience with these transformative therapies, including with the regulatory agencies.”
Through participation in the Summit, attendees will be able to:
- Discuss fundamental advances in basic immunology that provide the foundation for immune therapies and their application
- Gain insights into critical limitations of immunotherapies and gene therapy including associated adverse events
- Examine cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in resistance and relapse associated with these therapies
- Review new immunotherapy targets
- Discuss the application of CRISPR gene editing in the development of targeted therapies
- Analyze cell manufacturing considerations
A significant focus of this year’s Summit will be the application of immunotherapies for the treatment of classical hematologic diseases. Other highlights include sessions on clinical experience, manufacturing, and challenges in immunotherapies; sessions presented in partnership with the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT) and the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC); and a late-breaking session focused on gene editing.

ASH Meeting on Hematologic Malignancies
September 8-9, 2023
Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park
Chicago, Illinois
The ASH Meeting on Hematologic Malignancies features top experts in the field, comprehensive clinical content, and the opportunity to interact with colleagues in an intimate, small group setting with no competing sessions. At this in-person meeting, participants will have an opportunity to hear experts present cutting-edge scientific data, provide out-of-the-box treatment approaches, and answer challenging patient care questions during topic-based panel discussions.
The program is structured as “How I Treat” presentations that showcase each speaker’s evidence-based treatment approaches. Attendees will learn how new data can be translated into new strategies for diagnosis and treatment, find out what to do in cases where no data are available, and gain knowledge that can help make an immediate impact on clinical practice.
ASH’s Consultative Hematology Course will be offered as an optional add-on event, one day prior on September 7. This interactive, half-day course, led by faculty familiar with consultative practice issues and commonly encountered clinical problems that require the expertise of a hematologist, will focus on classical hematology topics.
Registration for the Meeting on Hematologic Malignancies will open on June 7, 2023. For more information, visit hematology.org/meetings/hematologic-malignancies.
