Claire McLintock, MD
Claire McLintock, MD, past president of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), passed away on December 23, 2022.
In addition to being ISTH president from 2018-2020, Dr. McLintock was part of several other ISTH programs. Specifically, she was part of the ISTH council, the chair of the ISTH Education Committee, co-chair of the Subcommittee on Women’s Health Issues on Thrombosis and Hemostasis, and vice chair of the World Thrombosis Day Steering Committee, and she helped organize the ISTH 2019 Congress.
Dr. McLintock also worked as an obstetric physician at National Women’s Health at Auckland City Hospital. Her work there, which focused on advocacy for women’s health and thrombosis awareness, earned her the title of Office of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2019.
Dr. McLintock also contributed her expertise to the Society of Obstetric Medicine of Australia and New Zealand and the Thrombosis and Haemostasis Society of Australia and New Zealand, for which she served as president from 2008-2010 and 2009-2011, respectively.
