Alex A. Adjei, MD, PhD
Alex A. Adjei, MD, PhD, has been appointed chair of the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute. Dr. Adjei has conducted and led research in the development of targeted therapies, chemotherapy treatments, and immunotherapy and cancer-fighting viruses.
Prior to his appointment, Dr. Adjei was a professor of oncology and pharmacology, consultant in oncology, and co-leader of the developmental therapeutics program at Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, Minnesota. He oversaw oncology drug development at several Mayo Clinic locations. Dr. Adjei was also the senior vice president of clinical research, chairman of the Department of Medicine, and Katharine Anne Gioia Chair in Cancer Medicine at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
