Whether you’re a medical student, resident, or fellow – or already established in your career – ASH provides numerous programs and resources to help members keep up with the latest advances in hematology. One of ASH’s most popular educational offerings, the Hematology Review Series, is geared toward fellows who are preparing to take the internal medicine hematology certification exam or anyone desiring a comprehensive update of hematology standards of care. The series provides a review of hematology that is patterned after the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Certification Examination Blueprint.
The 2022 Hematology Review Series will air two episodes each week starting July 11 and running through October 28, leading up to the fall board exams in late November. At the beginning of each week, virtual lectures focusing on various topics in classical (non-malignant) and malignant hematology, presented by subject matter experts, will be released via ASH Academy on Demand. Each Friday at 6:00 pm Eastern time, ASH will host a virtual live study session to supplement the material covered earlier in the week. During these study sessions, participants can discuss board exam questions and receive clarification on that week’s topics.
“It was by far the best review series, as we got to learn from experts who not only helped us prepare for the boards but also taught us their clinical judgement and critical thinking,” said Deep Shah, MD, MBBS, of Allegheny Health Network in Pennsylvania, who took part in the 2021 series. “I say this to all my trainees . . . and encourage all of them to review it as well.”
Discounts are available for individuals interested in combining the Hematology Review Series with purchase of the ASH Self-Assessment Program (ASH-SAP).
